Katie McBroom is an award-winning storyteller and strategist with nearly two decades of experience. Her blended background includes everything from conceptual copywriting to insight-driven strategy, both on the agency side and in-house.
As a copywriter, she’s led campaigns for tech leaders like Google and beauty brands like Tarte. Her editorial work has appeared in top media outlets like CNN, Cosmopolitan, Business Insider, Men’s Health, and WWD, among others.
In addition to copywriting at Google, she managed the editorial content for Connect, a blog for Google Maps creators. She also led UX writing for Google’s Local Guides team. Her work contributed to the Local Guides site winning “Best User Experience” in the Webby Awards.
Prior to that, Katie oversaw all beauty coverage as Beauty Editor of Hearst's search-focused commerce site, BestProducts.com. Under her direction, beauty was the top-performing vertical in both traffic and revenue. Her experience also includes strategy work for clients including Sephora, P&G, Coty, and more.
Katie is also the voice behind lifestyle blog Martinis and Mascara. She was dubbed Allure’s Most Buzzworthy Blogger in 2013 and Lucky's New Voice of Beauty in 2014. Since then, she's garnered coverage for her work as an influencer in publications including Refinery 29, Buzzfeed, NewBeauty, and Health.
